New Crochet Necklace

I have been busy creating a new necklace to put in my etsy store....
a crochet black/white stripe fabric necklace.
I'm wearing one as we speak, and it is super light and comfy, and a little bit lovely as well I think.

I love the lengths of fabric at the back which can be worn on the front or down your back.
I think it adds a little bit of extra detail to the necklace..

head on over and take a look...

Berry Markets...

On Sunday the kids and I headed off to Berry Markets. It was a gorgeous day, with loads of people wandering around in the hot, hot sun. We met up with some special peeps and had a great time checking out who was there displaying their wares....the lovely Emma-Lee from Milk Thieves included.

Here are some pics I took along the way...

waffles for lunch...

how cool is this table of tools...

some gorgeous vintage doilies...

my favourite of the day I think...but budget wouldn't allow...

Miss R's leaf sculpture...

a unique tree...

and finally my purchase of the day, a cute, so cute, succulent sitting proudly in an upcycled fence paling "plant pot". Swoon...

How was your weekend? Were you at Berry Markets to?

'Wild Ones' Markets...

On Sunday, Ms D and I went on an adventure up to check out the new 'Wild Ones' Art and Design market at the Hazelhurst Gallery.

So much fun was had, with great music, beautiful surrounds, lovely company and of course craft and shopping to boot...what else does a girl want!

The gorgeous gals from Paperklip Design, Milk Thieves, Me&We, Kristen Doran Design and Mrs Petersons Pottery were all there, along with lots of other gorgeous stalls.

The art gallery was fabulous as well, so worth a look.

I was mildly obsessed with this big board of type...
so cool...

Funky stripes...

Lovely geometrical goodness in the grounds...

vintage birdy, cup and saucer...
soo lovely.

Can't go past a bit of string art...

and of course some awesome industrial goodness in the galleries jewellery workshop...
love that!

Thanks for a beautiful day Ms D...

My lovely lamp...

Another adventure to my favourite oppy has turned up a gorgeous new find which I am absolutely loving....this very lovely, but very lonely reading lamp was sitting in the corner with no friends and no hat on.

I felt soo sorry for it, I just had to bring it home...

I fell in love with the base, it has such a beautiful shape...

...and not having a hat/lamp shade I thought to use this wire frame which I had thrifted a while ago, (with the intention of working some crochet magic on it after ripping the old shade off to uncover the wire).
But with this sitting at home unfinished and mildly abandoned, I thought to pop it on top...

so there you have it...
a little bit different but a little bit lovely.

and it throws such cool patterns on the wall and roof at night when its on...

Has anyone been thrifting and creating lately?
Do tell...

New DIY sidetable...

I have done it again today, driving by a house and finding some gorgeous cut logs, then proceeding to throw them into the boot.

I have this addiction to rustic logs, I think they are really handy as small side tables or stools for the kids....probable Mr G will not agree.

So with the three I procured this morning and with the addition of a leather belt that I also procured not long ago, I now have a new (I think) gorgeous side table...

So here is the result....what do you think?

looks good in the kitchen....

and the lounge room...choices, choices!

And when I`m sick of it I can reuse all the bits to create another new thing...love that!

What do you think?

Have you been creating anything fun today?

Vintage Finds...

With a few hours of no kid time today, in amongst chores, I managed to get in a bit of scrounging and sifting through my favourite op shops.

And heres what I came up with...

some new knitting needles, some lovely light and dark grey thread and some very girly hoop frames with antique hooks for Miss R.

an absolutely swoon worthy vintage crochet blanket in every amazing colour possible...

and this very sporting, vintage badminton set.
Complete with the four original wooden racquets, cotton rope nets and tartan case.

Looking forward to setting this little baby up and enjoying the summer sun with the kids...

Hope you are having a lovely day!

Puppet Mania...

Here's how a relaxing sunday afternoon movie watching session, can turn into a puppet making frenzy...

We watched the documentary "Being Elmo" yesterday, and my son was soo inspired he immediately insisted on the making of his very own puppet and stage.

The puppet came first, with an old sock and a ping pong ball and some felt.

and here are the results...

We started with an old fruit box, and cut a large square out for the stage.

Grabbed some felt for the curtains and string to tie them up.

Cut and sewed.
And once the curtain were tied back, we were in business...

He just loves it......awesome!

"Being Elmo" is an interesting doco, give it a watch...
