My Latest Op-Shop Adventure...

The other day after school and preschool drop-off I swung by one of our local oppy's to take five and have a parooze...its so relaxing when there aren't any little whining voices and tugging and pulling on the skirt....

And here's what I came home with....

These gorgeous goodies...

This fabulous vintage board game...
Miss R loves this one!

But this one was the real winner...

How good are the graphics!

We have been playing it non stop...beats the iPod action that is continual in our house!

This over sized wooden spoon...
as the lovely lady behind the counter remarked "and what will you do with this?"
"Good question", I replied...

a lovely plate and of course some wooden bangles...

and a funky new skirt.

I feel very grateful.

What finds have you had lately?

Blue Mountains Road Trip...

On the weekend, the kids and I jumped in the car and headed for the hills....not just any old hill but the Blue Mountains. Armed with DVD players, Ipods and a boot full of food we snaked our way up the mountain where we met up with our gorgeous friends Ms D and Ms P.

So much fun was had, with 6 kids in tow running a muck and having a beautiful time. Meanwhile with a glass of wine in hand and dip and bikkies not to far away, the girls and I got to relax and chat and eat and chat and eat some more...

So much natural beauty and such wonderful company, it was a blast.

Thanks Ms D and Ms P...and the kids of course. Lots of xx sent your way...

My New Stripy DIY

Here is my new DIY knotted plant holder...

and here is how I did it...

Yesterday afternoon I was feeling the urge to get crafty, and had a look at what was on hand at home. I have this fabulous black and white striped knit fabric strips and thought to myself, lets have a go at a wee little plant holder...

To begin I cut 8 equal lengths of fabric.

With all 8 pieces lined up tie a large knot from all lengths about 8 cm from the end.

Then separate the 8 pieces into 4 bundles of 2 lengths.
Leave a length of around 2cm then tie a knot in each bundle.

Once that is complete you will have the 4 squares as seen below, when you pull the joined four pieces out.

Twist the remaining length of each one, and tie another knot at the end of each bundle to secure.

To finish tie all lengths together in a large secure knot...

Finish with a special little bowl or pot and add a splash of green to it.
These airplants are perfect as they don't require soil and only need a spray of water once a week.

enjoy the end result...

So off you go and get making, I would love to see the results.
